Before you can understand the name 64 Roses, you first have to meet the person who gave it meaning.
Travis’s older cousin, Lee, was seven years his senior and spent his life battling Cystic Fibrosis — a fight that began the day he was born. Even after undergoing a double lung transplant, Lee faced every challenge with a strength that inspired everyone who knew him.
Because “Cystic Fibrosis” is such a complex term, many children living with the condition are taught to say “Sixty-Five Roses” instead — a sweet and simple phrase that sounds almost the same. What started as a way for children to pronounce their diagnosis became a powerful symbol of awareness, courage and love.
Growing up, Travis and Lee were more than cousins — they were brothers, best friends and partners in mischief. In Travis’s own words:
“You were more than a cousin to me — you were my brother, my best friend and my hero. You taught me how to fight, how to be a man and how to raise hell. But most of all, you taught me to never back down from a fight and to always take it on.”
They lived by a shared motto:
“Live to fight, and fight to live.”
In February 2021, just shy of his 30th birthday, Lee lost his battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Though time moves forward, the memory of his spirit never fades.
“Money comes and goes, time spins and never stops, but a memory never fades.”
— Travis, Founder of 64 Roses LLC
Those words perfectly capture the heart of 64 Roses — a reminder that love and legacy outlast everything else.
When the time came to officially file the business paperwork, Travis knew he wanted to name his company in honor of Lee and the meaning behind 65 Roses. However, when submitting the LLC registration, “65 Roses” was already taken. Wanting to keep the name close to its inspiration, Travis chose the next best thing — 64 Roses — a subtle change that kept the same heart, story and purpose.
In honor of his cousin, his brother, and his hero, Travis decided that his lifelong dream would also serve as a living memorial — a tribute to the bond they shared and the lessons Lee left behind.
And from that love and legacy, 64 Roses LLC was born — built on courage, resilience and the promise to never stop fighting for what you believe in.
For Lee — our reason, our reminder, our rose.
